Crispin/Asta's son: Protagonist
is a 13 year old boy and both of his parents died. He ran away when his mom died because he didn’t want to pay the death taxes. The entire village was looking for him because he was proclaimed a wolf’s head because he was blamed for stealing money from the manor house. The Priest was helping him by telling him where to go and he was going to tell him about his parents, so he told Crispin to come back another day. When he came back he was tricked and a boy brought him into a place where John Aycliffe was, so he could kill him, when he saw Aycliffe he ran into the woods only to find that the priest had been murdered. He ran off into the woods and one day found a village that was all burnt and that story leads to how he met bear.

Bear: Protagonist
is a man who was in an abandoned village playing instruments. He saw Crispin and he made Crispin be his servant because he found him. He was mean at first but in the end he was nice. He took care of Crispin and taught him how to play instruments. Bear is very brave because he is taking care of Crispin and if people knew that Crispin was with him then Bear would probably become a wolfs head too. Bear is a very intelligent man and he knows a lot about the Christian faith.

John Aycliffe: Antagonist
Aycliffe is a very mean person who accused Crispin of stealing money from the manor house and the priest's murder. Both of them Crispin did not do. Aycliffe is looking for Crispin threw the woods; he has been looking for him since Crispin’s mother’s death, when he ran away.

The Priest: Protagonist
is a man who was really good friends with Crispin and his mother. He helped Crispin and told him that Crispin was his real name, but his mother didn’t want him to know and only the Priest knew why. If it wasn’t for bear Crispin would still be known as Asta's son and that probably would have not been good when he met bear.
